Information on 2018 CTE Summer Bridges Program

CTE Summer Bridges Program for High School Students

Irvine Valley College Career Technical Education (CTE) will offer another summer of FREE two-week summer program for high school students Summer 2018, exact dates to be announced. Instruction and supplies will be provided at no cost. The programs will be team-taught and blend writing and communication skills with career concepts.

Registration Policy
Priority will be given to incoming high school seniors and juniors, although if there are available seats, incoming freshmen and sophomores may register as well.

Please register for the classes that interest you the most. Seating is limited. We reserve the right to limit the amount of classes you attend if classes are over capacity. We would like as many students as possible to attend our programs this summer.

We will send a confirming email with full information on your status in the class. We should know by the end of May, who will be in the class and who will be on the waitlist.

Due to no-shows last year, we have instituted a new policy.  After being accepted into the workshop, students must confirm they will attend the class by attending a brief mandatory orientation session. The orientation sessions will be held on the Friday or Saturday the weekend before each class begins.  During this session each student must bring a parent or guardian to sign liability waiver forms and commit to attendance for the entire two-week session. During this meeting, students will also take a short pre-test of knowledge on the subject and be video recorded expressing what they hope to get from the course.

The orientation meetings will be held on our IVC main campus. Meetings will be held on Friday between 4:00 and 6:00pm or Saturday 10:00am to noon. Exact details of orientation schedule will be emailed directly to participants selected off the waitlist. PLEASE DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL ABOUT DETAILS BEFOREHANDFor other inquiries, contact Tiffany Nguyen, CTE Program Specialist at 949-367-8312.

Students who do not attend the orientation meeting will be dropped from the class and students on the wait list who attend the orientation meeting will be given the seats in the class.

We look forward to seeing you this summer.
