Writers Academy (Grade 3-4)

Geared towards students entering 3rd - 4th grade

This primary grades common core-based writing academy puts an emphasis on sentence and paragraph structure. To achieve this, the teacher will also review grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary. Emphasis will be placed on opinion-based writing in which students introduce a topic, state an opinion, and provide reasons to support the opinion. This course is a great way to strengthen students’ writing skills as they prepare for the next grade level.

Reminders: 
  • Please bring snack and water daily. 
  • Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes.
  • Please bring sweater/sweatshirt, classroom may get cold.

Class will be held in person at Irvine Valley College

Parking: There will be a reserved, FREE, 30 minutes drop-off and pick-up zone in parking lot #2.
