Geared towards students entering 7th - 8th grade

This junior high writing academy is aimed at bringing out the creative thinking process that is in all of us. This develops creative writers. In this course, teachers will guide students through writing multi-paragraph essays on a variety of topics such as writing arguments to support claims, writing informative/explanatory texts to examine a topic and convey ideas, and writing narratives to develop real or imagined experiences. This course is a great way to strengthen students’ writing skills as they prepare for the next grade level.

  • Please bring snack and water daily. 
  • Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes.
  • Please bring sweater/sweatshirt, classroom may get cold.
