Geared toward students entering 1st - 2nd grade
This course will include an introduction to common core-based grade level reading comprehension including how to identify key details in a story, how to re-tell the main events, and how to identify different characters’ points of view. There will be a strong focus on developing students’ phonics skills and other relevant reading strategies. Teachers will use a variety of popular children's literature to strengthen students' reading skills. This will help to naturally enhance students’ love of reading
4-day camp
- Please bring snack and water daily.
- Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes.
- Please bring sweater/sweatshirt, classroom may get cold.
Class will be held in person at Irvine Valley College.
